This certifies that the airport operator takes all necessary steps to ensure the safety and health of passengers and staff.

Liszt Ferenc International Airport has obtained the international WELL Health-Safety Rating. LDuring the qualification process, independent experts examined five focus areas at the passenger terminals (cleanliness, emergency preparedness, health care, air and water quality, involvement of interested parties). Previously, only American and Canadian airports earned the rating.

The purpose of the WELL Health-Safety Rating is to support company owners and operators in protecting the health of staff, visitors and other interested parties. The investigation covers five areas: cleaning and disinfection procedures, emergency preparedness programs, health service resources, air and water quality management, and stakeholder engagement and communication. The process concludes with the acquisition of the WELL Health-Safety seal, which indicates a company's commitment to the health and well-being of visitors to the building it operates. The certification process is typically undertaken by operators of office buildings and hotels, but Budapest Ferenc Liszt International Airport is one of the first airports to start the certification process.

The most important health protection measures remained in force at the airport even after the end of the pandemic; contactless solutions are prioritized, and the posted hand sanitizing stations have also been maintained. Budapest Airport also pays special attention to the air quality of the terminals; regularly reviews ventilation equipment and adapts airport processes to minimize exposure to exhaled particles.

The company is also mindful of protecting the health of its staff; gives its employees access to more health services, and during the coronavirus epidemic it specifically supported immunization, i.e. taking the vaccine. The newly acquired WELL Health-Safety Rating certificate recognizes Budapest Liszt Ferenc International Airport's commitment to prioritizing health and safety measures, in line with the recommendations of the ICAO Council's Aviation Improvement Working Group, the joint Aviation Health and Safety Protocol of EASA and ECDC and ACI EUROPE with its guidelines for providing a healthy airport passenger experience.
