United States: a Virginia police officer was saved from being run over during control by a car traveling at 120 km/h

Dash cam video shared by Fairfax County police shows a black BMW sedan being driven by a teenager coming within inches of the officer, who had gotten out of his patrol car to pull over a gray BMW for speeding.
In the seconds before the accident, the black BMW can be seen skidding near Braddock Road. He then hits the car that had been pulled over and bounces into the police car. The officer falls to the ground for a second but gets back up. Quickly, he radios for help.
Both the agent and the three passengers aboard the black BMW escaped unharmed. According to the report released hours after the event, the driver of the vehicle that caused the incident and the people who were with him had seat belts on.
The subject behind the wheel of the black BMW was charged with reckless driving , a misdemeanor that can often result in prison in Virginia. The security forces detailed that he is 17 years old and therefore state law prevents them from identifying him or disclosing details about the event.
In line with what happened, Deputy Police Chief Bob Blakley specified that road safety among teenage drivers is in decline. So far this year, speeding tickets for adolescents have increased by 6% and warnings for not following signs have increased by 98%.
Once again about the accident, reconstruction experts determined that the car was going 120 km/h in a 50 km/h zone.
The identity of the injured officer, who is recovering at his home, was not disclosed. However, from the Fairfax Police Department they said that the agent is alive because he decided to approach the driver who stopped from the passenger side. This is a tactic that is optional for officers but recommended in cases where approaching from the left side presents a safety hazard.
